The IETE is india's leading professional Society. The Government of India recognizes the IETE as an Educational Institute of National Eminence.

The IETE Facilitates its student members to acquire engineering Degree/Diploma equivalent Qualifications through its well established and recognized examination system. The IETE also helps the students by extending library facilities, coaching/laboratory assistance, coordination of IETE students Forum and providing continuing education etc. To help the student members in getting prepared for various examinations, the IETE has established C-DETS (Centre for Distance Education Through Satellite).

About The Course

A.M.I.E.T.E. examination is conducted by the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) and is recognised by the Govt. of India as equivalant to degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. The final degree is awarded by IETE. The minimum marks for exemption (pass) in any subject is 40% and aggregate is 50%.

The Goverment of India recognises a pass in the A.M.I.E.T.E. Examination at Section A and Section B levels for the purpose of the recruitment to executive posts and commissioned ranks in the Services in the appropriate fields under the Central Goverment. Candidates with A.M.I.E.T.E. qualification are eligible to apply for any job in Govt., Public and Private Sector where B.E. is prescribed as the minimum eligibility qualification for the post. They are also eligible to pursue Post Graduate courses. Many Graduates from IETE have already got admission in Post Graduate Courses (MS) in USA and elsewhere. IETE graduates can also pursue M.Tech. and M.E. programmes.

Job Opportunities

Candidates who successfully complete Section A and B of Associate Membership Examination conducted by the IETE are treated at par with those holding a degree in Electronics and Telecommunication/Information Technology/Computer Science & Engineering from an Indian University for recruitment to superior posts and services under the Central Government. Students who have completed this course have been successful in the GATE and completed M. Tech. or have gone abroad for further studies. Many of the universities in India and abroad admit these students for higher studies. Those who have completed section A&B examinations of the IETE are occupying responsible posts in Private, Public Sectors, Govt. Organisations, ONGC, IAF, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, BEL, BHEL and other reputed firms and establishments where B. E. / B. Tech. is required.
